The Ouseburn Heritage Group is a sub-committee of the Ouseburn Trust. The Heritage Group is a small group of individuals who have a interest in the heritage of the Lower Ouseburn Valley, particularly its important industrial history. As well as producing an annual series of guided walks and visits around the Ouseburn Valley area during the Summer, and public talks at the Cumberland Arms, the Ouseburn Heritage Group has also, in the past, arranged visits to the Victoria Tunnel. Unfortunately, because of some damage to the Tunnel, visits have had to be suspended. Currently, repair work and refurbishment to improve access for visitors is being undertaken by Newcastle City Council. The intention is that tours will be re-started in early 2008. Further information about the Ouseburn Trust and the Heritage Group and its activities may be obtained from: Tel: 0191-2616596 Any comments, corrections or questions about the content of this website would be welcomed by the compiler at: info@victoriatunnel.info
